Will I ever get there?

Doesn't it fee like you are talking to an empty room with this blogging. Oh well one day soon someone might listen.

These are so gorgeous.

Three times now I have thought about picking up my laptop and typing my next post - and it doesn't happen. I even think about what I want to write. Take yesterday afternoon, the sun was shining, hubby was in the garden giving his hedges a last cut (he hopes) before the winter sets in, No.1 son (aged 7) was upstairs building some wonderful creation with his lego and knex and No.2 son (aged 2) was fast asleep on the sofa. Peace and quiet, with just the sound of the clock ticking. No TV or radio or noisy children. And me, I was sitting on my comfy chair in my kitchen with the sun shining through the window on my face, my eye closed.

It brought back a memory I had of my grandparents (I miss them loads) who lived in Birmingham, as a child I would stay there for a few weeks in the holidays. In the morning I would come down the stairs and there kneeling on the floor, in front of the gas fire (if it was cold it was usually on low) was my nan, looking at the newspaper and sometimes doing the crossword. The room was quiet except for the ticking of the clock on the mantel shelf. She would then get up from the floor and with a smile walk into the kitchen and put the kettle on. "Cup of tea" she would offer. I always did like a cup of tea, in a cup and saucer. Soon there was also the smell of bacon wafting in. Grandad would appear from the garden, he was always up early and either pottering in his immaculate garden or if the weather was bad he would be in the greehouse. With my cup of tea and bacon and egg breakfast I would sit happily listening the hiss of the gas fire and the ticking of the clock. (a single tear falls down my cheek as I type this). :-)  photos will be added later.

Time to go Thrify

I was reading Diary of a Tinyholder's blog last night and started flicking from this to Ebay to look at material, suddenly there was a pretty top staring at me,not quite sure how it appeared in the fabric section, but it was my size and only minutes to go, bish bash bosh, I bought it. Do I really need another pretty top? I don't really go anywhere to wear them (I live in jeans and tee shirts). This keeps happening right at the time when the bank balance is low.

So I have decided to cut back on spending and we are going on the Egg & Chips diet. I will buy a tray of eggs and a sack of potatoes and will cook those in all different ways (of course I will be adding our 5 a days just to keep us all healthy). This way it should give me my bank balance a chance to recover or it may mean I just have more to spend on Ebay and of course The Country Living Christmas Fair next month.

Keeping it Pink.

My present to myself - Pink Cyclamen

After feeling very moody for so long now I have tried to focus on another colour other than black. So I chose pink. I have always liked pink and although some would say it is not a colour that suits me (being a fair skin and freckled red head) I think it is nice. So pink is in, everything is going to be pink from now on (well almost everything).

I love my pink Crocs

My letter to Father Christmas this year will say "Dear Father Christmas, I have been a good girl (most of the time) and this year I would like PINK. Not the pop star Pink, not too keen on her music, but lots of things in my Christmas stocking that are pink. Thanks S".

My handy pink tool kit

Look at all those pink birthday cards.

OK ,just a small glass

Been doing a bit of sewing lately, thought I needed a new hobby that doesn't have any calories (I'm a foodie and a cook, but thats another story). I've been making things for my house makeover project - I have a plan of action that I will tell you about later. I've made some cushions and some hanging hearts - I love vintage, shabby chic and home made style. I've also made a cute sausage dog out of  the leg of a pair of trousers and some odd bits of material. I'm very impressed with myself didn't think I could work the sewing machine. (Thanks nan - something must have rubbed off).

Woof

By the way, inspiration for my house makeover is coming from lots of blogs I have been reading. Happy Loves Rosie is fabulous and I have read it from start to finish - Happy surely makes me feel a lot happier. Also Vintage, Pretty and Shabby again I read it - I laughed and cried, it should be a book. Their style is fantastic and I want it all (in pink). I also want a caravan in the garden - this wish is what started it all and its how I found these blogs. Aaaahhhhhhh - sorry I keep yawning, well it is 10.40pm. Time for bed now, I'll have another bash tomorrow night. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

My first blog.

Wow - I've set up a blog and slowly over the next few weeks (months or years) I will fill it with all my thoughts, dreams, likes, loves, dislikes and even maybe a few moans. I read a few blogs regularly for ideas and inspirations and hope I can fill this with all the fun happy things I get from them.

I love all things pink.

So I'll catch up again soon, while I figure out how to change colours add more pictures etc. Take care.
